Our carbon footprint label
The new carbon footprint label is part of our continuing efforts to reduce our carbon emissions. We are measuring and sharing the carbon footprint of our products, allowing wearers to make decisions that not only benefit mind and body, but also the planet.

2010:
Collaborated with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on the Environmental Footprint
Reduction Project.
September 2019:
Accelerated climate initiatives by committing to 1.5Ā°C science based emissions reduction targets.
2021:
90% of new ASICS running shoes feature recycled
polyester in the main upper.
Ā September 2022:
Released GEL-LYTE III CM 1.95 shoe, offering the lowest CO2e sneakers on the market while reinforcing ASICSā commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050.
April 2023:
- Launched Run for Reforestation
Challenge, encouraging runners to take action against climate change by supporting reforestation efforts.
- Participated in Vision 2045, a documentary film series focused on inspiring a better future for all. ASICS was selected as a representative from the sporting goods industry.
June 2023:
- Launched our carbon footprint label (see above).

Our materials
Polyester Fabric from Recycled PET Bottles
Polyester production from recycled PET bottles emits less CO2e and uses fewer fossil resources than traditional polyester production.
At least 70% of the GEL-CUMULUS 25 shoeās main upper* is made with polyester fabric from recycled PET bottles.
Bio-Based Materials
Bio-based materials are intentionally made from substances derived from living (or once-living) organisms. These natural resources can be drawn upon to create fabrics for textiles or compounds for sole components. Sugarcane and cellulose nanofiber are some examples.
The GEL-NIMBUS 26 shoe features FF BLAST PLUS ECO cushioning, which is made with at least 20% bio-based materials.Ā
Solution Dyeing
Solution dyeing will help reduce carbon
emissions from our dyeing by 45% and reduce water usage by 33%.
The SOLUTION SPEED FF 3 shoeās sock liner is made using a solution dyeing process.
